Q3: Which switch models support Ethernet backhaul? You can click on the network map on the Deco app, then click on a satellite Deco to check which deco it connects and whether through the Ethernet backhaul or not. When the Deco is set to work under Access Point mode, you can wire satellite Deco to any Deco unit or the main modem/router.Ĥ. ![]() Please follow the steps below to establish the Ethernet backhaul.ġ.Please set up the Deco units on the same network via Wi-Fi at first through the Deco app before you wire them together.Ģ.Place the satellite Deco in the ideal location for the best coverage and then wire Deco units together with Ethernet cables, the Ethernet backhaul will take effect automatically.ģ.Deco works in Router mode by default, please note that the satellite Deco is requested to wired to the LAN port of the main Deco or a switch connected to main Deco’s LAN port to avoid a network loop. Once Ethernet backhaul is established, the Wi-Fi backhaul will disconnect automatically. And Deco will transmit data between the two units through the Ethernet connection, which is more stable and faster than Wi-Fi. Thanks to this feature, every two Deco units can be wired with an Ethernet cable. ![]() From what I understand, I should be able to use the G1100#2 as a wireless access point as well.Deco W3600, Deco X68(2-pack), Deco X20, Deco M1300, Deco X68, Deco HC4, Deco X25, Deco X3600(2-pack), Deco Voice X50, Deco X58-4G, Deco X5700, Deco X4300 Pro, Deco S4(3-pack), Deco M4(3-pack), Deco X60(3-pack), Deco W6000, Deco XE5300, Deco M5, Deco M4, Deco X3600, Deco HX20, Deco XE75, Deco M3, Deco X75, Deco X20(3-pack), Deco M5 Plus(3-pack), DecoX5700, Deco X50-4G, Deco S7(3-pack), Deco X3600(3-pack), Deco X50-PoE, Deco S4(2-pack), Deco X50-Outdoor, Deco Voice X20, Deco X73-DSL, Deco W7200, Deco X50-5G, Deco P9, Deco X68(1-pack), Deco X80, Deco P7, Deco X60(2-pack), Deco X60(1-pack), Deco X90(1-pack), Deco X20-DSL, Deco X68(1 pack), Deco 5G, Deco P7(2-pack), Deco X20-4G, Deco S4(1-pack), Deco BE95, Deco S7, Deco X76 Plus, Deco S4, Deco X20(2-pack), Deco X90, Deco W2400, Deco X50, Deco X96, Deco X55, Deco E4, Deco E3, Deco W6000(2-pack), Deco X20(1-pack), Deco X68(3-pack), Deco XE75 Pro, Deco XE200, Deco M9 Plus(2-pack), Deco X80-5G, Deco X55 Plus, Deco M9 Plus, Deco X5700(2-pack), Deco S7(2-pack), Deco AC1200, DecoX5700(2-pack), Deco M3W, Deco X60Įthernet Backhaul is a feature that makes it possible to wire the Deco units together. Verizon seems to offer a FIOS Network Adapter (which is a MoCA adapter, but without wifi abilities) for around $55 and a FIOS Network Extender (which is a MoCA wireless access point) for around $110.īut as it turns out, I might be able to get my hands on a second G1100 router for rather cheap. ![]() The Actiontec MoCA 2.0 adapters are a bit pricey. MoCA 1.1 adapters are cheap, but they are limited to modest speeds (175mbps?). Someone on that thread mentioned using MoCA adapters, which I wasn't familiar with and neither was he. Wiring additional Ethernet cables in the house is problematic. That apparently won't work because both the Coax and the Ethernet WAN ports of the G1100 router are connected to the ONT and the living room only has a single Coax for the STB. In my previous thread, I thought I would be able to move my G1100 (I'll call it G1100#1) router from a second floor room to the first floor living room to get better wifi signal to the video doorbell.
